The cookies this site uses and how to control them.
Where this stands today. Pulse is installed and running. It is cookieless, so it sets nothing on your device and needs no permission from you. Google Analytics is chosen but not yet installed, so no analytics cookie is set on this site at all right now. When it is installed it will load only after you accept, exactly as described below.
The short version. Three tools will measure this site, and only one of them sets a cookie. Pulse, a cookieless analytics tool, stores nothing on your device. Google Analytics sets cookies and loads only if you accept them. Google Search Console reads Google's own search data and never runs in your browser. Nothing on this site advertises to you or follows you to other sites.
What cookies are
Small text files a website stores on your device.
Cookies let a site remember your actions and settings between pages and visits. Some are needed for the site to work at all. Others are optional and help us understand how the site is used. You decide which optional cookies to allow.
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These keep the site running: page navigation, security, and holding on to a choice you have already made. They are always on and do not need your consent, because the site does not work properly without them. As it stands, this site sets no cookies of its own in this category.
Your cookie choice itself is not a cookie. We keep it in your browser's local storage under the name hc-cookie-consent, holding one word, accepted or declined. It stays on your device, it is never sent to us with a page request, and it lasts until you clear this site's data.
Analytics
Three tools tell us how the site is used. Only Google Analytics sets a cookie.
- Pulse. A cookieless analytics product, built and hosted by KICKFLIP, the studio behind this site. It counts page views, referrers, and the small number of clicks we have named, and it writes nothing to your device: no cookie, no local storage entry, no lasting visitor ID. Because it stores nothing, it needs no consent and there is nothing for you to switch off.
- Google Analytics 4. Shows us which pages people actually use, how they arrived, and where the site fails them. It is the one tool here that sets cookies, and it loads only after you accept. When it loads it sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_ followed by our property ID, which last up to two years and hold a randomly generated ID rather than your name or your email. Decline, or simply do not accept, and neither is ever set.
- Google Search Console. Reports how the site appears in Google Search: which queries surface it, how often people click through, which pages Google has indexed. It reads Google's own search records and runs no script in your browser, so it sets no cookies and takes nothing from your visit.
We use no advertising cookies, no remarketing tags, and no cross-site tracking of any kind.
Consent
Analytics cookies load only with your consent. On your first visit, a banner asks whether to allow them. Until you choose to accept, Google Analytics does not load and no analytics cookie is set. Strictly necessary cookies stay on either way, because the site needs them to function. Pulse and Google Search Console are unaffected by your choice, because neither of them stores anything on your device.

Managing cookies in your browser
Your browser also lets you view, block, and delete cookies directly. Each browser handles this differently, but the controls usually sit under Settings, Privacy, or Security. From there you can:
- See the cookies a site has stored and delete them
- Block cookies from specific sites or block them all
- Clear cookies automatically when you close the browser
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working as intended.
