Harness manufacturing is not a European industry with outposts. It is a global one, and a missing connector travels with it.
Eleven markets have a page of their own. The rest of the footprint is listed below, honestly: these are countries we ship to, not countries we have offices in. There is one office, in Sofia, and a named person on every shipment.
Send us a part numberMultiple markets, one problem
Different plants, different borders, the same missing connector. Pick a market to see who builds there, what the customs position is, and how we get parts in.
Poland
The largest harness producer in the EU, at roughly 28 to 32 percent of output. Aptiv, Yazaki, Lear, Sumitomo and Leoni all build here. Inside the EU, so no customs formalities.
Romania
Part of the block carrying around 60 percent of Europe's conventional harness capacity, and the fastest-growing part of it on EV programmes. A neighbour, inside the EU.
Serbia
Took on a large share of the harness capacity that relocated after 2022. Leoni, Aptiv and Yazaki all manufacture here. Outside the EU, so the customs paperwork is part of the job.
Germany
Where the harness is designed, validated and specified. Draexlmaier, Kromberg & Schubert and Leoni are German groups. Inside the EU.
France
Stellantis and Renault assembly at Sochaux, Mulhouse, Poissy, Rennes, Douai and Cleon, plus Toyota at Valenciennes. Inside the EU.
Italy
Stellantis passenger, luxury and commercial vehicle plants, plus Iveco in Turin. Long platform lives, so obsolescence arrives while the line is still running.
Turkey
Yazaki at Bursa and Kocaeli alongside a large domestic cable and harness industry. Outside the EU but inside a customs union with it for industrial goods.
Morocco
The fastest-growing nearshore base for European programmes. Yazaki, Aptiv, Leoni, Sumitomo and Lear have all invested here. Association agreement with the EU.
Tunisia
Building European harnesses since 1974. Draexlmaier across Sousse, Mahdia and Siliana, and Leoni with more than 20,000 people. Association agreement with the EU.
Mexico
The largest harness manufacturing base in the world. Juarez alone carries more than 150 plants. A formal export with full customs documentation.
India
Motherson Sumi Wiring holds more than 40 percent of the market on its own. No EU trade agreement in force, so import duty and IGST apply.

Harness Code operates from a single office in Sofia, Bulgaria. The markets above are destinations we ship to and source from. We do not maintain local offices, warehouses or staff in them.
Not on this list? The footprint above is where we already ship, not the limit of where we can. Send the part number and the destination, and we will tell you honestly what the lead time and the customs position look like before you commit to anything.
