Wire harness connectivity parts, delivered into Serbia.

Serbia absorbed a large share of the harness capacity that moved after 2022. It is also outside the EU customs union, which makes the paperwork part of the lead time.

Serbia took on the capacity that had to move. It is close to us, and the customs border is the part most suppliers get wrong.

Leoni, Aptiv and Yazaki all build harnesses in Serbia. We are a few hundred kilometres away in Sofia, and we prepare the customs paperwork rather than leaving it to the freight company.

Why Serbia matters to us

Harness assembly line

Serbia became a significant harness manufacturing base after 2022, when the disruption to Ukrainian production forced Tier 1 suppliers to relocate capacity quickly. A large amount of that capacity landed in Serbia, and the plants that took it on have been running hard ever since.

Leoni operates three harness plants in the country, at Prokuplje, Malosiste and Nis. Aptiv and Yazaki also manufacture harnesses in Serbia. Between them they consume connectors, terminals and seals across every family we source, and they carry the same exposure to allocation and obsolescence as any other high-volume plant.

Serbia is not in the European Union, and that is the detail that catches suppliers out. A shipment into a Serbian plant needs customs paperwork, and a customs delay on a part for a stopped line is indistinguishable from not having found the part at all. We prepare the documentation ourselves rather than handing it to a freight company and hoping. It is the same discipline as the traceability on the part itself: if we cannot document it, we do not ship it.

The other thing in our favour here is distance. Sofia is a few hundred kilometres from the Serbian harness belt, close enough that a hand-carry is a realistic option rather than a theoretical one. When a line is already down and standard freight plus a border crossing is too slow, someone drives or flies with the part. Serbian-language support is available on request.

Who we serve here

We ship to plants like these

The Tier 1 harness manufacturers operating in Serbia. We supply the connectors, terminals and seals that go into their builds, at the shortage and obsolete end of the market.

Tier 1

Leoni

Three harness plants, at Prokuplje, Malosiste and Nis. The largest harness footprint in the country.

Tier 1

Aptiv

Serbian harness manufacturing. GT 150, Metri-Pack and legacy Delphi-branded families against current and older programmes.

Tier 1

Yazaki

Serbian harness production. The 090, 250 and 480 terminal series are the ones these builds run on.

Context

Post-2022 relocation

A large share of the capacity that moved out of Ukraine landed here. Plants ramped fast, and supply chains built for a different volume have been catching up ever since.

Plants listed are public manufacturing sites in Serbia. Named customer references appear only with written permission.

Logistics from Sofia

Close enough to hand-carry. Outside the EU, so the paperwork is real.

Serbia is not in the EU customs union, so a shipment needs customs documentation. We prepare it rather than leaving it to the freight company, because a part held at a border is no more use than a part we never found. Sofia is close to the Serbian harness belt, which makes hand-carry a genuine option when a stopped line cannot wait.

FAQ

Common questions on supplying Serbia

01Do you deliver to Serbia?

Yes. Serbia is one of our closest markets. It sits outside the EU customs union, so shipments need customs documentation, and we prepare that paperwork ourselves rather than leaving it to the freight company.

02How fast can you get parts into a Serbian plant?

Sofia is a few hundred kilometres from the Serbian harness belt, so hand-carry is a realistic option when a line is stopped, not just a theoretical one. For standard shipments, the customs step is part of the lead time and we quote it honestly rather than pretending the border is not there.

03Which connector brands do you supply to Serbian harness plants?

TE Connectivity, Aptiv and legacy Delphi, Yazaki, Sumitomo Electric, JST and Molex at the core, with around forty more brands sourced on request. Send the manufacturer and the part number.

04Do you speak Serbian?

Serbian-language support is available on request. Most inquiries run in English so that part numbers, date codes and lot codes stay unambiguous.
